Fees for aged care music therapy at facilities

Two hours in the morning weekly for $220.

Three hours in the morning weekly for $280.

Why does Harmonic Tonic sell music therapy in 2 hour, 3 hour or whole day blocks to aged care and other facilities?

Because music therapy is a uncommon profession, the music therapist covers Canberra and a large area of the surrounding region to provide music therapy sessions.  The reality is that the next music therapy job in a day may be up to hours drive away. The opportunity for activities and therapy at many institutions is limited to less than six hours a day. Often, an organisation will request a one hour music therapy session at a time that does not allow a music therapist to undertake a session at another institution before or after that session. For example, an institution will want a music therapist from 10:00am to 11:00am which does not give a therapist enough time to do a session from 9:00am to 10:00am or from 11:00am to 12:00 noon at another institution.

Either I offer institutions one hour for $220.00 or 2 hours for $220.00 or 3 hours for $280.

What are the benefits of engaging a music therapist for two or three hours?

Engaging a music therapist for two or three hours allows the music therapist to reach more clients effectively. Two or three hours allows the music therapist to hold a number of music therapy sessions which can be tailored to groups with different needs. It also allows the music therapist to visit clients’ rooms for those who choose not to leave their rooms or can’t easily leave their rooms. Music therapy is also more therapeutic in smaller groups. You also have the option of the music therapist documenting the sessions or individuals progress in the sessions.

Options for two hours of music therapy

• A one and half hour group music therapy session and 30 minutes of documentation reviewing the clients’ progress
• Two group sessions of one hour each and no documentation
• A one hour group session, one hour of short individual sessions in clients’ rooms and no documentation
• One hour and 30 minutes of short individual sessions in clients rooms and 30 minutes of documentation reviewing the sessions and the clients’
• Two hours of short individual sessions in clients rooms.

Options for three hours of music therapy

• Two group sessions of one hour each and one hour of documentation reviewing the sessions and clients’ progress
• A one hour group session, one hour of individual sessions in clients rooms and one hour of documentation reviewing the sessions and clients’ progress
• Two hours of individual sessions in clients rooms and 1 hour of documentation
• Three group music therapy sessions of one hour each and no documentation
• Three hours of individual sessions in clients room and no documentation
